He is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Prof. Mehra has authored and published more than 500 scholarly papers with a specific focus on advanced heart failure including evaluation of novel left ventricular assist devices engineered to reduce the burden of adverse effects and allow use in broader populations of patients. This work, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, has resulted in the introduction of novel therapy for advanced heart failure patients. Prof. Mehra is a Past-President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and also past-president of the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA).

Professor Nir Uriel, MD, PhD, M.Sc

Prof. Uriel serves as the Louis Block Professor of Medicine; Director, Heart Failure, Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support at UChicago Medicine. Prof. Uriel specializes in caring for patients who require mechanical circulatory support, including ventricular assist devices (VADs) and is the immediate past Chair of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Council of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation

Prof. Uriel's research focuses on advanced heart failure physiology, heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support. Prof. Uriel specialized and reported physiological changes and developed treatment algorithms for patients supported with mechanical circulatory support that are being used worldwide. These findings were published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Circulation and JHLT and more. He has a strong interest in high-risk transplant populations, including combined multi organ transplant, HIV-positive patients and patients who have received mediastinal radiation due to tumors or prior transplants. Through his research, Prof. Uriel has improved treatment protocols and patient care for these high-risk groups.

Prof. Uriel has published more than 200 original peer-reviewed articles. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals, including American Journal of Transplantation, Journal of American College of Cardiology and Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation

Another strong interest is aortic surgery and cathether based treatment of structural heart disease. Dr. Maly has authored and published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles. His special focus is apllication of basic hemodynamic principles for predicting the effects of device based treatments for acute heart failure.

Yuriy Pya, Professor of Cardiac Surgery

President of the Board of JSC "National Scientific Cardiac Surgery Center", at Astana, Kazakhstan. Doctor of Medical Science, member of the World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons (WSCTS), the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons (EACT), Chief cardiac surgeon of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

After graduating the II Moscow State Medical Institute named after Pirogov N.I., he became one of the best cardiac surgeons in Kyrgyzstan where he worked from 1982 -1994.
